How to play

Chess basics.

You're always White and move first. The AI plays Black.

1. Click one of your pieces to select it. Its legal moves light up.
2. Click a highlighted square to move there, or click the piece again to deselect.
3. Get a pawn to the far side and you'll be asked what to promote it to.
4. Checkmate, stalemate, and draws are all caught automatically.
5. Switch difficulty any time. It changes how many moves ahead the AI plans.

Restart game?

You'll lose the current game and start fresh.

Reset score?

This wipes your win/loss/draw record for every difficulty. Can't be undone.

Change difficulty?

You'll lose the current game and start fresh.
